Everards Meadows

A little about

The Everards story

Southgate Brewery.jpg

We’ve been around since 1849 when our founder, William Everard, purchased a brewery in the heart of Leicester. Today, over 165 years later, we are proud to be investing in our home county with the Everards Meadows development and look forward to creating a new home for the next chapter of our story. Still independent and family owned, the business will soon be welcoming the sixth generation of the Everard family.

We’re best known for our pubs and beers but we also get involved in many other projects, all with one key theme – building relationships with business owners and communities.

We own over 175 pubs across the Midlands which are all run as independent tenancies. We find that this creates a great balance of supporting in whatever way is needed but also allowing the freedom for the licensees to develop the best offer for the local community. It’s an approach we’ve been proud to win a number of awards for over recent years but, most importantly, has meant that we have many long term relationships with our business owners.

You may not know that we also own a large amount of property and also work with other types of businesses, for example a social enterprise bakery in Birmingham.  We also work with many great local partners to support our communities.  From local charity Warning Zone to iconic local venues such as The Curve Theatre as well as our successful local sports teams such as the Leicester Tigers.

So with years of experience partnering with business owners, we are now seeking more to develop the great opportunities at Everards Meadows.

Finally, we must mention our beers. Iconic Tiger is the most well-known and is the Official Beer of many local sports teams.
